Ruan Daros, PhD
Graduated in Agronomy (2011), Master in Agroecosystems (2014) from the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC) and PhD in Applied Animal Biology from the University of British Columbia (2019). He is currently an Adjunct Professor in the Veterinary Medicine course and in the Graduate Program in Animal Science at Pontificia Universidade Catolica do Parana (PUCPR).
Leandro Batista Costa, PhD
Graduated in Animal Science from the Federal University of Lavras (2004), Master's and PhD in Animal Science and Pastures from the University of São Paulo/ESALQ (2005/2009) with a doctorate internship at the University of Manitoba, Winnipeg/Canada. Completed a Post-Doctoral internship at the Institut de Recerca i Tecnologia Agroalimentàries, IRTA, Animal Welfare, Catalonia/Spain in 2018. Currently, he is an Adjunct Professor in the Graduate Program in Animal Science at the Pontifical Catholic University of Paraná - PUCPR.
Thiago Bernardino, PhD
Dr. Thiago Bernardino is a professor at the School of Veterinary Medicine of the University Santo Amaro, with the program in One Health. Thiago is a veterinarian (Federal University of Uberlândia) who also holds a masters degree and a PhD from the University of São Paulo (USP), where he conducted research on pig welfare and its connections with nutrition, reproduction and epigenetics. In addition, as a research fellow at the University of Maryland Baltimore, Dr. Bernardino worked with microRNAs and extracellular vesicles in pig semen, in order to assess the effects of housing and environmental enrichment on boars. His expertise on animal behavior, welfare, and pig production has allowed him to explore approaches like the relationship between epigenetics and welfare; prenatal stress and offspring outcomes; nutrition and welfare; technologies and welfare; humane slaughter; among other fascinating areas.
Andreia De Paula Vieira, PhD
Graduated in Veterinary Medicine from the Universidade Estadual de Londrina (2003), Master in Animal Science (Animal Production) from the Universidade Estadual de Londrina (2006) and PhD in Animal Science from the University of British Columbia (2012). She is currently a member of the SBEt Council for the Southern Region and an articulator in Brazil of the International Society for Applied Ethology (ISAE).
